Mailings fail as Not Attempted because of wrong IP addresses in the mailstream

Overview

ListManager cannot send from an IP address that is not assigned to the computer it is running on. If the IP addresses defined for a mailstream are incorrect, mailings may fail with a "Not Attempted" error. That can happen after ListManager is moved to a new computer or if the server IP changed, and ListManager is configured to use a static IP.

Solution

The IP addresses are set in the MailStream configuration:

  1. Navigate to "Utilities : Administration : MailStream : MailStream Administration".
  2. Click on the name of the mailstream to open the "Edit MailStream" screen.
  3. Move the correct IP address from the "Available IPs" to the "Chosen IPs".
  4. Move any invalid IP addresses from the "Chosen IPs" to the "Available IPs" box.
  5. Click on the "Save" button.

Testing

Resending the affected mailing should not result in a Not Attempted error.
