Overview
You would like to add a relay server or multiple relay servers to your Lyris installation and you want to know if certain Lists can be set to go through particular relay servers.
Solution
You can add as many relay servers, called Relay Hosts in LM, as you want to your installation. If you specify multiple Relay Hosts ListManager will automatically distribute the mail relay load between them - you cannot specify that a particular list goes through a particular Relay Host. If you need to send a great deal of mail through a relay host setup, we recommend that you specify several Relay Hosts.
- Log on to LM as an Administrator
- Navigate to Utilities > Administration > Server > Server Settings > Network Settings > Deliver Email tab > Configure Relay Hosts
- Host IP address: Enter the IP address of the Relay Host. Multiple entries must be separated by a carriage return. A mail server must be listening on the IP address you specify
- Port: Enter the port number of the Relay Host receiving SMTP connections
-
Maximum connections: Enter the maximum number of connections to be made to this relay host. This setting may be used to prevent the relay host from being overwhelmed with ListManager connections
NOTE: If one or more relay hosts are defined, domain connection limits have no effect.
If the relay host is defined but unresponsive when ListManager is started or after changing this setting, you will see a warning on the console and ListManager will be unable to deliver mail.
