Overview
You are running a version of LM lower than 12.4 and are attempting to upgrade your instance, but there is no option to "Upgrade", only "Install" and you would like to know how to perform the Upgrade.
Prerequisites
- You have an existing installation version prior to 12.4
- You have collected your Serial Code from your existing installation. See the Check Your LM License Capabilities to Find Your Serial Code, License Expiration, or Last Day to Upgrade article for details
Solution
NOTE: Since the release of 12.4 an issue was identified related to DKIM that caused mail delivery to halt. The issue was resolved with the release of version 12.4.1.
The Installation Wizard for version 12.4 does not present you with the option to Install or Upgrade. Instead, ListManager will silently Upgrade when you choose an existing ListManager installation directory to install version 12.4 in.
- Make a backup of your Database
- On your ListManager server, make a backup copy of the
lmcfg.txt
file- Windows:
C:\Program Files\ListManager\lmcfg.txt
- Linux:
~/ListManager/bin/lmcfg.txt
- Windows:
- Run the Installer
Windows: Double-click the executable
Linux: From the command line, enter:./install_lm.pl
- When prompted to select the installation directory, select the directory where your current ListManager installation resides. By default these locations are:
Windows:C:\Program Files\ListManager\
Linux:~/ListManager/
- When prompted, use your existing Serial Code to complete the installation
ListManager will silently upgrade your installation to version 12.4.
